CT CIC in the News: National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering

By CT Clinical Innovation Center

The efforts of the CT CIC were recently featured on the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) website.

"Two Monumental Milestones Achieved in CT Imaging" details the role the CT CIC played (in conjunction with Siemens Healthineers and with funding with funding from the NIBIB) in developing photon-counting detector (PCD)-CT. Included in the article are some incredible images taken in the CT CIC showing off the awesome potential of PCD-CT and quotes from Technical Director Cynthia McCollough, not just reflecting back but looking forward to future improvements, including artificial intelligence (deep learning).

Also featured are some exciting developments in image reconstruction of CT scans of the brain from Hura Imaging, Inc. Read more here.
