The CT CIC at RSNA 2023
Another November, another Thanksgiving, and another successful RSNA for the CT CIC. See below for some of the hardware we brought from Chicago.
The Trainee Research Prize is awarded by the RSNA Annual Meeting Program Planning Committee to an outstanding scientific presentation in each subspecialty presented by a resident, fellow, medical student or physics trainee. The CT CIC winners for 2023:
Anika Dutta, for “Quantitative in Vivo Assessment of Wrist Trabecular Microarchitecture with Photon-counting-detector (PCD) CT,” coauthors Andrea Ferrero, Kishore Rajendran, Cynthia McCollough, and Francis Baffour.
Emily Koons, for "Quantification of Coronary Artery Stenosis from Dense Calcifications using Ultra-High-Resolution Photon-Counting-Detector CT," coauthors Prabhakar Rajiah, Jamison Thorne, Nikki Weber, Holly Kasten, Elisabeth Shanblatt, Cynthia H. McCollough, and Shuai Leng.
The CT CIC also won a pair of Certificates of Merit for our Educational Exhibits:
Prabhakar Rajiah, for "The ABC's of ECG - Practical Tips and Tricks for Salvaging ECG-Gated Cardiac CT," coauthors Clinton Jokerst, Nikkole Weber, and Brooke Nordine.
Zhongxing Zhou, for "Impact of Reconstruction Field of View, Matrix Size, and Kernel on Spatial Resolution of Photon Counting CT," coauthors Alex Bratt, Joel Fletcher, Cynthia McCollough, Lifeng Yu.
Other recent CT CIC awards and honors:
Shaojie Chang won an Expanding Horizons Travel Grant award from the AAPM, for his strong commitment to expanding the scope of research in medical physics.
Safa Hoodeshenas was appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
