New grant awarded to the CT CIC

The NIH National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering recently awarded a new R01 grant to the CT CIC. Entitled "Comprehensive characterization of coronary atherosclerotic disease using photon-counting-detector dual-source CT and its impact on patient management," this 4-year grant aims to 1) Design, implement and evaluate the world’s first human cardiac PCD-DSCT system; 2) Using phantoms and specimens, measure the improvement in visualization and quantification of CAD relative to commercially-available state-of-the-art cardiac DSCT; and 3) In humans, quantify the impact of PCD-DSCT on patient diagnosis and management. Drs. Cynthia McCollough and Shuai Leng are co-Principal Investigators on this grant. Congratulations!
